Anne Hathaway Credits Husband For Helping Her With The Fallout Of Playing Fantine In ‘Les Mis’

Anne Hathaway credits her new husband Adam Schulman for helping her get through the grueling filming of the screen adaptation of “Les Miserables.”

In “Les Mis,” the 30-year-old actress plays Fantine, a struggling, sickly mother forced into prostitution in 1800s Paris.

Hathaway lost 25 pounds and cut her hair for the role. She tells the December issue of Vogue, the part left her in a “state of deprivation, physical and emotional.” She felt easily overwhelmed and says Shulman was understanding and supportive.

The couple wed in September in Big Sur, Calif. Hathaway wore a custom gown by Valentino whom she collaborated with on the design. Working with the designer is a memory she says she will “treasure forever.”

The December issue of Vogue hits stores Nov. 20.

Anne Hathaway To Donate Portion Of Wedding Photo Profits To Support Gay Marriage

Anne Hathaway married her longtime love, Adam Shulman, in September, and the actress wants to help make sure all couples have the right to experience their own fairytale wedding.

“The Dark Knight Rises” star, 29, will donate a portion of the profits from the sale of her wedding photos to multiple charities including non-profits advocating for same-sex couple marriage rights, according to Freedom to Marry.

Other charities receiving funds from Anne reportedly include the American Cancer Society, The Girl Effect and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This is not the first time Anne (whose old brother is gay) has stood for marriage equality – she and Adam have been serving as members of Freedom to Marry’s National Honorary Host Committee which raised $500,000 to further the gay marriage cause.

Anne Hathaway is still a blushing bride, but she’s already thinking about having babies with husband Adam Shulman.

The actress revealed her plans to expand her family to The Hollywood Reporter, which interviewed the actress as part of its “Actress Roundtable.”

Anne made the admission after hearing Amy Adams answer the question, “How has fame changed your life?”

“I am going to get in an altercation with the paparazzi. It’s going to happen,” Amy told the trade mag. “They keep focusing on my child. You guys are mothers. How do you handle it? Because I need to calm down. I have a really bad temper. I need to learn how to control myself.”

Anne then chimed in with her own family plans.

“I’m thinking about that because I really want to have a baby, and my husband and I are like, ‘Where are we gonna live?’” the “Les Miserables” star said.

Marion Cotillard came up with an idea.

“Come to France!” she said. “We have laws.”

Anne Hathaway Reveals Why She Won’t Talk About Her Les Miserables Diet

Anne Hathaway admitted she was on a strict regimen to get in shape to play Selina Kyle – aka Catwoman — in “The Dark Knight Rises,” but she’s pledged to keep mum on how she got un-fit – and super skinny – to play doomed prostitute Fantine in “Les Miserables.”

“I don’t answer that question. Not to like get super serious about it, but just there’s so many people out there that will try something unhealthy to lose weight,” Anne explained, when Access Hollywood’s Michelle Beadle brought up how much she hates the “weight” question with regards to this film.

“I don’t want to contribute to that. So actually I don’t answer the question,” the actress added.

But Anne was absolutely open about her first post-film meal.

“I had spelt pasta with garlic oil and like a lot of beautiful fresh tomatoes and then I had a twice baked potatoes, with basil sun dried tomatoes [and] oil. It was so good,” she raved.

Anne also revealed that Russell Crowe, who plays Javert in the film, the long arm of the law, was actually a total sweetie to the actress and her post-film first meal.

“Russell Crowe — don’t let this tough guy exterior fool you — he’s a big marshmallow-hearted man,” she said. “He scoured London and found me a vegan chocolate cake and brought me this huge vegan chocolate cake when I was done because he asked me, ‘Are you going to have anything sweet?’ I’m like, ‘No, no, I don’t. We were shooting way out in the middle of nowhere. I’m like, ‘I can’t be bothered to go to London to get that!’ And he brought it for me… to make sure that I was going to be able to celebrate with something sweet.”

Glam Slam: Anne Hathaway’s Bold Beauty

Everyone is talking about Anne Hathaway’s head-to-toe Tom Ford look last night at the New York premiere of “Les Miserables”….especially THOSE boots!

Quite the daring look for the fashion darling.

She went with a bolder beauty look (hello, dark lips!) to compliment her fashion forward style and here’s how Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee created the dramatic look.

Inspiration: We wanted Anne to look slick and chic in her home town of NYC.

Foundation: I started out by perfecting the skin with CHANEL Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10. I wanted the complexion to be truly flawless; I love the velvety finish.

Blush: Cheeks were given a slight flush with Laura Mercier Cream Blush in Praline.

Eye Shadow: On the lids I used a fine veil of CHANEL Illusion D‘Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme to add a shimmery, wet-looking effect when she blinked.

Mascara: Lashes were curled and given a coat of Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir. I then added a mixture of strip and individual lashes to add shape and volume to the lashes.

Brows: I spent a lot of time grooming and elongating Annie’s brows. I used Anastasia’s brow powder and clear brow gel to set them in place.

Lips: On the lips, I used a mixture of three lip colors. I started out with CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Rouge Noir. I then added CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Somptueuse and a touch of CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Palpitante.

Anne Hathaway Might Have Ratted Out Her Douchebag Boyfriend Raffaello Follieri To The Feds

When Anne Hathaway dumped her boyfriend Raffaello Follieri and then he was arrested the following week for financial fraud, I knew it was just too convenient. A few days after Anne Hathaway broke up with Raffaello Folleri, he was suddenly arrested for a $6 million real estate scheme. The New York Daily News now suggests Anne Hathaway may have been the one to rat out her ex to the FBI. So Anne Hathaway's break-up with Raffaello Follieri may have been timed a little too conveniently. A friend of the Italian con-man believes Anne cooperated with the Feds in helping them arrest Raffaello, according to NY Daily News:

"It makes sense," the friend said. "She's referred to as his former girlfriend in the indictment even though her spokesman never confirmed they broke up."
Hathaway, who is not identified by name in the criminal complaint, split with Follieri shortly before his arrest last week. He is charged with posing as an agent of the Vatican to fleece investors out of millions.
"I think that in return for her cooperation, the feds held off on arresting Follieri until she was out of the country," the friend said."

According to the latest reports, Anne Hathaway may have actually spoken to the FBI about her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri. The information she provided to the FBI could have led to his arrest. Anne Hathaway may have tipped FBI that Follieri was selling the Catholic Church's land, falsely claiming Vatican permission. Within days of Anne Hathaway’s break up with Italian con-man and ex-boyfriend Raffaello Folleri, he was arrested.
I guess Anne Hathaway started to realize something was amiss when Raffaello suggested they add role-playing to their routine. He would pretend he was a priest while conducting real estate transactions and, she'd pretend she didn't want to sleep with the fishes if she ever opened her mouth. This is a scary thought. That someone could betray a person so close to them. LOL... You know what they say, "Snitches get stitches" and with an asshole like Raffaello Anne better watch her back. A tough week is seemingly getting tougher by the hour for , the deposed beau whose surplus of unused "CFO, The Vatican" business cards are the least of his mounting problems. There's also the positive drug test, the mysterious "illness and subsequent hospitalization," and the whole problem of house detention — which he could get around with the mere $21 million bail laid down Tuesday in court. the 29-year-old Italian could just save the cash, sit down with the feds, and see what might work to avoid the charges' maximum sentence of life in prison.Indeed, Follieri is allowed to leave the house only for legal, medical and religious reasons, all of which seem to apply these days: Both his physical condition and his legal future are reportedly unknown. And for a man whose ATM receipts are essentially dicta from God Himself, it may take more than an ankle bracelet to monitor Follieri's places of worship.

So. The latest news coming out of Hollywood is that Chris Nolan has cast Anne Hathaway (ie the Hottie pictured here:  for his upcoming 'The Dark Knight Rises' Batman flick due in 2012. I like Ms Hathaway. I think she's awesome. But to think: Princess Mia (from the Princess DIaries if you're male and single) as one of the most iconic comicbook anti-heroes? Has Chris Nolan finally jumped the shark?

Volumes have already been written in cyberspace as to just who in Hollywood should play 'The Cat' to Christian Bale's 'Bat'. Its a role desired by every woman under the age of forty. And it's been linked in the past few months to everyone from Rachel Wiesz to Meagan Fox. For my dough, I would have LOVED to see Ms Weisz slink around seductively a la Cat. But my expectations must be tempered by my not knowing just how exactly Director Nolan plans to reimagine and reinvent the character. Still, feel free to respond with YOUR CHOICES to play catwoman.

Surely, you'd recall the brilliant job that he and David Goyer did with the Joker (I refuse to even look at the Jack Nicholson version now). So, I'm just 'dying' to know what he has in mind this time around. Hathaway has built a career on 'safe' choices and her closest dalliances into the dark side would have been in Havoc, Brokeback Mountain and Rachel Getting Married - and with the exception of the latter, there is little evidence of the dramatic depth and breadth of a more seasoned actor. I have no doubt however that she'll look great in the costume - provided of course that Goyer / Nolan don't choose to go another way with Catwoman this time around.

Ahhhhh, the elusive woman in the leather suit. Not the easiest look to pull off mind you. But to some, the most seductive creature on earth. Hey, I'll be the first to admit that I still have dreams about Kate Beckinsale in Underworld - and I would pay to see her bedecked as Selene one more time if the studios insist. :) But for now, this blog intends to honour those very special women who have donned the suit in times past. Big shoes for Anne Hathaway to fill but certainly not a big suit.

1. Julie Newmar (Batman - The TV Series c 1965)

For many of a past generation, Julie Newmar was the quintessential Catwoman. Not the most famous of celebrity names. And it certainly doesnt help when you have to compete with wooden acting and campy plot twists, but Julie baby, you sure knew how to work that suit!

2. Eartha Kitt (Batman - The TV Series c 1965)

As was often the case with episodic television in the sixties, actors were routinely replaced even in the case of an established character. Case in point - the change from Julie Newmar to Eartha Kitt in Season Three. Not only did actor change in this case, but so did her disposition towards the protagonist. (I suspect in order to avoid the scandal of a mixed race superhero couple.) Eartha Kitt may not have 'owned' the 'CatSuit' in the manner that Halle Berry would four decades later, but she certainly had the voice down pat! Her sexy purrrrring was certainly tailor-made for the character and created a new benchmark for pillow-talk for generations to come.

3. Lee Meriweather ( Batman - The Movie; 1966)

Batman got his first chance at the Box Office in 1966 and with it, much of the already established cast WITH THE EXCEPTION of Julie Newmar, who was unavailable, and was replaced by former Miss America, Lee Meriweather. Though she filled the suit and the part well, Ms Meriweather is often the most overlooked of the early Catwomen and due to her similar appearance is often mistaken with Julie Newmar.

4. Halle Berry (Catwoman; 2004)

As a movie, Catwoman called to mind two important questions: the first, how do you FUCK up a franchise as promising as this one especially when you have the beautiful Halle Berry headlining and the weight and support of the Warner machine behind it? And secondly, how HOT is Halle Berry? The movie may be an injustice to this Oscar winning actress - but she sure as hell does this costume Justice. Meeeeeoooow!

5. And the winner is.......Michelle Pfieffer (Batman Returns; 1992)

Admittedly, she played the part just a little bit grimier, darker, vulnerable and felinesque than the rest. But for me, Michelle Pfieffer is Catwoman. Whether she was licking Michael Keaton's batface or mending her home-made suit, she possessed an awkward sexiness that endears her even now. A damned sexy woman. And like Helen and the fall of Troy - the first Batman movie franchise couldnt quite recover after this.

Les Miserables Anne Hathaway

 

Tom Hooper's "Les Miserables" has just thrown a star-studded premiere in the U.K. on December 5. Held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, the special screening event was attended by the musical film's A-list cast members including leading ladies Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried.

Hathaway became the event's center of attention with her fabulous look. Keeping her pixie hair sleek, the Fantine depicter dazzled in a pastel-colored mermaid gown with oversized arms that exposed her sexy collarbone. The elegant dress also had a backless detail that made the brunette beauty look even more gorgeous.

Looking equally stunning on the red carpet was Seyfried, who opted for a little black dress. The Balenciaga number by Nicolas Ghesquiere looked pretty with asymmetric details on the lower part. The Cosette depicter teamed the simple-but-chic outfit with a pair of black platforms and finished off her look with smokey-eye makeup while letting loose her wavy blond hair on one side of her shoulder.

Another belle of the ball that night was Eponine depicter, Samantha Barks. With a navy Stella McCartney dress with sheer detail on the midriff, the brunette beauty looked flawless as she stepped on the red carpet. Helena Bonham Carter also supported the event, glamming up in a black ball gown.

Leading men Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe all looked dapper in their long coat, while Eddie Redmayne opted for a dark blue suede suit. Also attending the promotional event were Sacha Baron Cohen's wife Isla Fisher who kept it simple in a white ensemble, and Gillian Anderson who looked daring in red.

"Les Miserables" folllows ex-prisoner Valjean (Jackman) who is hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjen agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Hathaway) young daughter Cosette (Seyfried), their lives change forever. The film will open Stateside on December 25.
