WATCH: Anne Hathaway Talks About Wardrobe Malfunction on 'Today'

Anne Hathaway clearly wanted to create a stir with her attention-grabbing ensemble at the premiere of Les Miserables in New York City on Monday night. But, instead, she caused a frenzy by accidentally flashing photographers (without wearing underwear!) when she exited her car.

The image of Hathaway's lady parts quickly went viral, and it can be assumed that she found out about the incident not long after the photo hit the web. As Hathaway has continued doing press for Les Miz this week, she's been forced to open up about the wardrobe malfunction on a couple occasions.

"It was obviously an unfortunate incident," she tells Today in the above interview. "It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it."

Hathaway adds, "And I’m sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which brings us back to Les Mis, that's what my character is, she is someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing and there's no social safety net."

Of course, the real question here is why Hathaway opted not to wear any panties. (Did she not learn anything from Lindsay Lohan?)

The actress echoed similar sentiments about her response to the mishap in an interview with a reporter from Vanity Fair, which was reported by The New York Daily News.

“I was getting out of the car and my dress was so tight that I didn’t realize it until I saw all the photographers’ flashes," Hathaway reportedly said. "It was devastating. They saw everything. I might as well have lifted up my skirt for them."

As the NY Daily News article points out, there are a number of ways Hathaway could have avoided this situation (again: wear underwear), but we agree with Hathaway that it would have been more appropriate for the photographer to just delete the photo. Then again, what would Hollywood be without its sex scandals and nude pictures nowadays?

It has happened to Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and now it’s happened to one of my favorite actresses, Anne Hathaway. She went to the New York premiere of her new movie Les Miserableswithout any underwear. And as she exited her car, paparazzi did their job. They took photos. The photos are now all over the internet. Below is what Anne had to say about the incident

Batman’s Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway Trained Hard for their Superhero Bodies

Christopher Nolan brought Batman back to the silver screen in 2005 with Batman Begins, and nearly ten years later, his wildly successful trilogy is set to conclude with the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises this Friday. The Dark Knight Rises will feature Catwoman, with Anne Hathaway as the dangerous and beautiful feline fatale, and Christian Bale will reprise his role as Batman. They both trained like … superheroes to prepare for their roles and we imagine you too, with look great in a Bat or Cat suit if you trained like they did as well.
Playing a superhero is a big change from Hathaway’s usual roles in romantic comedies and dramas and getting herself ready to play Catwoman was no easy task. Anne had to look perfect in Catwoman’s famous black spandex suit, but also had to be fit enough to perform the demanding  acrobatic fight scenes required of the role.

As a long time vegetarian Hathaway has always been thin, but for her role in The Dark Knight Rises thin just wouldn’t cut it. “I’ve always thought that skinny was the goal, but with this job, I also have to be strong.”
Her training for the role began nearly 10 months prior to filming and it became her number one priority. Hathaway trained six days a week, focusing on stunt training, plyometrics, strength training, and dancing for extra cardio. Anne admitted that she has never been fond of working out, but the months of intense training pushed her passed her fitness phobia. “There’s a workout hump where you’re so weak that you hate everything, and everything’s painful, and you look like an idiot.”
Christian Bale is well-known for his incredible transformations.  The 6’1″ Bale had dropped down to an emaciated 121 lbs. for his role in 2004′s The Machinist, and was able to add 100 lbs of muscle back to his frame in only a year in order to play Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. Bale has delivered legendary performances in each of the first two Batman movies and he has allegedly outdone even his own high standards in the upcoming series finale.

“With Bruce Wayne and Batman, he feels this is his last chance to really nail the role. He’s pouring over comic books and he’s started the kind of diet and exercise regimen that is more in line with an Olympic athlete than an actor. He’s going to be in the best shape of his life by the time he gets the Bat suit on again.” - Unnamed Source Close to Bale
Bale didn’t need to perform a drastic transformation this time, but he followed a very intense program of strength training and speed work coupled with stunt a fight training.

Poll: Should Anne Hathaway Keep Her Pixie Haircut? (It Sure Sounds Like She Plans To!)

According to the December issue of Vogue, we shouldn't be holding our breath waiting for Anne Hathaway to grow out her pixie haircut. She originally lost her long hair for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables and we've seen her working the red carpet with short-short strands over the past year.

“I love the short-haired lifestyle,” Hathaway tells Vogue writer Adam Green in the article. “It’s awesome that I was able to go for a hike right before I came here to meet you, quickly wash my hair, and now it’s dry ... I’m turning 30, and—I hope this isn’t obnoxious to say—I feel prettier, and much more myself. I guess I just feel much more satisfied with less now.” She added that the only downside to the short hair is having to get it cut every three weeks.

I love that Anne's loving her short hair, and I think it looks fantastic on her--but I admit that I do already miss her spectacularly beautiful updos and her perplexingly healthy/shiny long hair.

In fact, if you asked me which way Anne looks prettier, I'm not sure I could decide. Just for fun, let's do a little poll and see which way the rest of you are leaning.

Anne Hathaway: 'I Looked Like My Gay Brother' With My Short Haircut (PHOTOS)

Much has been written about Anne Hathaway's short hair, the cropped 'do she got to play Fantine in the upcoming "Les Misérables." Anne recently told Vogue that she's embraced the pixie cut, saying, “I love the short-haired lifestyle."

But at the first-ever screening of "Les Mis," held in New York City this past Friday, Hathaway admitted that she was anxious about her extreme makeover before she took the plunge, especially because it came right before her real-life wedding. The end result, however, wasn't too bad, said Anne: "When I eventually looked at myself in the mirror, I just looked like my gay brother. It was fine."

Hm, is it true? Below, see a pic of Anne with her two brothers: Thomas is on the left, and Michael, who came out when Anne was a teenager, is on her right.

We're not necessarily seeing a close resemblance... but we will agree that Anne's pixie deserves two thumbs up. Even with "Les Mis" all wrapped up, Hathaway is keeping it: "I’m turning 30, and -- I hope this isn’t obnoxious to say -- I feel prettier, and much more myself. I guess I just feel much more satisfied with less now," she told Vogue. Amen to that.

Anne Hathaway on Her Les Miserables Buzz Cut: "I Looked Like My Gay Brother"

Anne Hathaway visits Eve Ensler and the Cast of "Emotional Creatures" at Signature Center on November 15, 2012 in New York City.
Critics are already buzzing about the much-anticipated movie musical Les Miserables, out next month, but there's another kind of buzz associated with the film as well: Anne Hathaway's hairstyle.

Hathaway, who plays the disease-stricken Fantine in the Tom Hopper-directed drama, shaved her formerly long brunette locks into a choppy buzz cut for the role. She definitely looks the part, but she also looks a little like someone else -- her older brother, Michael.

"When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother," the 30-year-old actress told the audience (via The Hollywood Reporter) at a screening of the film on Friday, Nov. 23, in New York City.

The Oscar nominee (for 2008's Rachel Getting Married) went to other extremes for the movie, too. She famously lost 25 pounds off her already-thin frame to get into character as the dying, tuberculosis-afflicted prostitute.

"I had to be obsessive about it -- the idea was to look near death," Hathaway revealed in the December issue of Vogue, explaining how she ate nothing but two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste per day for two weeks to drop the last 15 pounds. "Looking back on the whole experience -- and I don't judge it in any way -- it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that’s who Fantine is anyway."

The newlywed (she married Adam Schulman in September) is in good company as a member of the star-studded cast of the movie adaptation of the Broadway epic. The film also features Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen.
